Kayton Travel (A Traveling Agency) has stepped up to back Iovino and his Patriot Racing team, signing a contract that involves over four Primary sponsored races and multiple Co-Primary races throughout the NASCAR K&N Season with all intentions on running a few ARCA races in the mix as Kayton Travel being the Primary Sponsor.
After competing in 14-race NASCAR K&N Pro Series races, Iovino won NASCAR K&N Pro Series Most Popular Driver Award for the West in 2016 and finished 18th out 57 drivers in season points
He’s hoping the multi-race sponsorship will help improve his performance as he stated it takes a huge relief off of him and now he can focus more towards racing.
Iovino will be competing in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and some selected races on the West including Kern County Raceway, Sonoma and Las Vegas. Iovino opened up the East Series opener at New Smyrna Speedway. Due to mechanical reasons, he wasn’t able to qualify, but his team managed to get the parts fixed in time to make the race and get through final inspection. Iovino, ran well considering he had to start at the end of the lineup for missing qualifying. But was unable to avoid the #39 and #10 cars that were spun out in front of him coming out of turn 4.
Iovino mentioned, “It was unfortunate, I was left with a split-second decision of head-on or up towards the wall to try and avoid them. Unfortunately for me, neither decision would turn out in my favor. Time to move on and think about Kern County Raceway”
